On 19 December 2024, the Armenian government approved the signing of a new income tax treaty. The treaty must be signed and ratified before entering into force and, once in force and effective, will replace the 1986 tax treaty between Japan and the former Soviet Union as it applies in respect of Japan and Armenia.
