Aruba Initiates Fiscal Reforms Including VAT System

The Aruba government has announced that the Tax Department has been instructed to initiate the process for fiscal reforms, which includes the adoption of a VAT system. The adoption of a VAT system was one of the conditions that Aruba agreed to in order to received funding from the Dutch government, which was needed as a result of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
