In a release issued on 28 August 2020, the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Bangladesh and Nigeria are working towards the signing of agreements on various bilateral issues, including an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
