Belarus Clarifies Application of Reduced Dividends Tax Rates

The Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties and Ministry of Finance have issued a letter to clarify the application of the reduced dividend tax rates introduced from 1 January 2019. This includes that the standard tax rate on dividends is maintained at 12%, but a reduced rate of 6% applies where the distributing company has made no distributions in the preceding three years, and an exemption applies if no distributions made in the preceding five years.
