Brazil Expands Scope of the Simplified Tax Regime

On 7 August 2014, the Brazilian President signed a law expanding the type of business activities eligible for the simplified tax regime for small businesses.

Complementary Law 147/2014, makes the Simples Nacional available to professionals who have been excluded for years, such as lawyers, engineers, physicians, dentists, veterinarians, psychologists, architects, translators, journalists, auditors, and accountants.
