Burkina Faso Introduces Special Contribution on Specified Goods and Services

Burkina Faso's Ministry of Finance has announced the adoption of Law No. 009-2023/ALT, which was promulgated by Decree No. 2023-0791/PRES-TRANS of 30 June 2023. The law provides for the introduction of a new "special contribution" on the import, sale, and consumption of specified goods and services, which aims to allow the government to mobilize more resources.
