China Repeals Prohibition on Tax Reduction/Exemption for Certain Commodities

China's State Administration of Taxation has published Announcement No. 36 (2020) of 5 August 2020, which was jointly issued with the Ministry of Finance and General Administration of Customs. The announcement provides for the repeal of a prior prohibition on the reduction or exemption from import duties and VAT or consumption tax on the import of 20 types of commodities, which was issued in 1994.
