Deadline to Choose Joint Tax Return Filing in Jersey Following Introduction of Independent Taxation for All Individuals

The Government of Jersey has issued a notice on the deadline for individuals to opt in for filing joint tax returns. This follows the introduction of independent taxation for all individual taxpayers for 1 January 2026. There is a joint filing option for those married couples who do not want to complete two separate tax returns, although this does not change the independent assessment. The deadline to opt in is 30 September 1016.
