EU Council Adopts Directive for Automatic Exchange of Information and Approves Parent-Subsidiary Directive Anti-Avoidance Amendment

At a meeting on 9 December 2014 in Brussels, the Council of the European Union adopted a directive extending the scope for the automatic exchange of information (AEOI) and approved an amendment introducing a binding anti-abuse clause as a "de minimis" rule in the EU's parent-subsidiary directive.
