Ecuador Extends 0% Remittance Tax Rate for Imports to Mitigate Impact of Ongoing Energy Crisis

The Ecuadorian government has issued Executive Decree No. 589, which extends the 0% remittance tax on foreign currency outflows (ISD) for critical imports. As previously reported, the temporary 0% ISD is rate was provided for critical imports to mitigate the ongoing energy crisis during January, February, and March 2025. As provided by Executive Decree No. 589, this is extended through April 2025.
