Federal Cabinet approves ordinance on combating tax evasion

On 1 August 2009, the bill on the combating of tax evasion (Gesetz zur Bekämpfung der Steuerhinterziehung), which provides for an authorization of the Federal Cabinet to issue a statutory ordinance with the consent of the Federal Council (Bundesrat) providing for the denial of the application of certain provisions of German tax laws, or making them conditional to increased documentation and cooperation requirements in cases of foreign business activities, entered into force.
