Finnish Parliament Considering Draft Bill for Increase in Unemployment Insurance Contributions in 2022

The Finnish parliament is considering draft bill HE 201/2021 vp, which provides for an increase in the unemployment insurance contribution rates in 2022. This includes:

• The employee's unemployment insurance contribution in 2022 will be 1.50% (up from 1.40%) of salary; and
• The employer's unemployment insurance contribution in 2022 will be 0.50% (up from 0.40%) of salary up to EUR 2,197,500 (up from EUR 2,169,000), and 2.05% (up from 1.90%) on salary exceeding that amount.
