According to a release published by the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation on 19 February 2026, officials from France and Uganda have begun the second round of negotiations for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
