France to Introduce VAT Compliance Requirements for E-Commerce Sites

France's Minister of Public Action and Accounts Gérald Darmanin has announced that legislation is being finalized to introduce VAT compliance requirements for e-commerce websites. With the requirements, e-commerce websites will be directly responsible for ensuring that VAT is collected appropriately on all products ordered through their sites by French customers and shipped from abroad.
