German Parliament Approves Pillar 2 Global Minimum Tax

On 15 December 2023, the German Federal Council (upper house of parliament - Bundesrat) approved the law for the implementation of the directive to ensure global minimum taxation for multinational enterprise groups and large domestic groups in the Union (Minimum Taxation Directive Implementation Act - MinBestRL-UmsG). The law was approved by the German Bundestag (lower house of parliament) on 10 November 2023 and must now be signed into law and published in the Official Gazette.
