Greek Ship Taxation Regime Amendments for 2020

Greece has introduced a number of amendments to the taxation of ships for 2020 (the tonnage tax regime).

Category B Vessel Taxation

One of the main areas of change is in relation to the taxation of Category B vessels, which generally includes any vessels not specified as Category A vessels, sailing vessels, and small craft. The new rate scale for Category B vessels based on gross registered tonnage is as follows

• First 20 tons - EUR 0.90 per ton
• Next 30 tons - EUR 1.05 per ton
