Guyana Announces VAT and Excise Reductions on Vehicle Imports and Fuel

The Guyana Revenue Authority has announced the implementation of the VAT and excise duty measures of the Budget 2022. The measures are effective 11 February 2022 and include:

• Removal of VAT on the import of:
  • new motor trucks of any tonnage used in the transport of goods (new means vehicles less than four years old);
  • new haulers or similar vehicles used for pulling containers,
