Hong Kong and Kazakhstan to Negotiate Tax Treaty

According to a release from the Hong Kong Government, officials from Hong Kong and Kazakhstan met on 2 June 2026 and agreed to "push ahead at full speed" with exploratory discussions on an income tax treaty, with the aim of concluding negotiations as soon as possible. Any resulting treaty will be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
