Hong Kong and Uzbekistan Look to Commence Tax Treaty Negotiations

According to a release from the Government of Hong Kong, officials from Hong Kong and Uzbekistan met on 6 May 2026 to discuss the enhancement of financial cooperation, including the commencement of negotiations for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
