India and the UK Negotiating Social Security Agreement

On 24 February India's Minister for Commerce and Industry reportedly announced that negotiations are underway for a social security agreement with the United Kingdom. The announcement was made while discussing the resumption of negotiations for a free trade agreement between the two countries. The social security agreement would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
