On 24 April 2024, Kazakhstan Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov signed the decree authorizing the signing of an income tax treaty with Egypt. Negotiations for the treaty began in 2016 and were concluded in 2019. The treaty will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be signed and ratified before entering into force.
