Lithuania Planning to Reduce VAT Rate on Basic Foodstuffs

According to recent reports, the Lithuanian government is planning to reduce the VAT rate on several basic foodstuffs to 5%, including for bread, meat, and milk. Subject to approval in parliament, it is expected the reduction would apply from 1 January 2019, but it could be implemented earlier.
