Moldova to Extend VAT Exemption to Electronic Books and Periodicals

The Moldovan parliament is reportedly considering draft legislation submitted on 15 March 2022 that would exempt electronic books and periodicals from VAT. Under current VAT rules, books and periodicals are only exempt from VAT if in paper form. Subject to approval, the exemption is to apply from the date the legislation is published in the Official gazette.
