New Zealand Announces Proposed Rules for GST on Low-Value Imported Goods

New Zealand Inland Revenue has announced proposed rules for GST on low-value imported goods. The proposals follow a consultation held earlier in the year and include:

• Offshore suppliers would be required to register, collect, and return New Zealand GST on goods valued at or below NZD 1,000 supplied to consumers in New Zealand;
