New Zealand Digital Services Tax Bill Introduced in House of Representatives Including Possible Deferral to 2030

New Zealand Inland Revenue has announced the introduction of the Digital Services Tax (DST) Bill in the House of Representatives (parliament) on 31 August 2023. As previously reported, the New Zealand Government announced on 29 August 2023 that it will introduce a digital services tax on large multinational companies in 2025. However, the DST Bill provides that it would come into force on either 1 January 2025, or a later date fixed by Order in Council, up to 1 January 2030.
