Norway Consulting on Withholding Tax on Interest and Royalties

Norway's Ministry of Finance has launched a public consultation on a proposal for withholding tax on interest and royalties. Currently, Norway does not levy withholding tax on interest and royalty payments.

The proposal includes that withholding tax would be levied at a rate of 15% (unless a lower rate is provided under a tax treaty) on:
