Norwegian Government Proposes Tourist Tax on Accommodation

The Norwegian government has issued a release announcing a proposal for the introduction of a new tourism tax. The proposal allows local municipal governments to voluntarily levy a tourist tax (visitors fee) of 3% on the price of all forms of overnight accommodation, excluding VAT, which may be levied year-round or seasonally.
