Philippines Amends Revenue Regulations to Impose 12% VAT on Certain Supplies Previously Subject to 0% Rate

The Philippines Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has issued Revenue Regulations (RR) No. 9-2021, which amends certain provisions of RR No. 16-2005, to implement the imposition of 12% VAT on transactions covered under certain sections and other changes. RR No. 9-2021 was published in a newspaper of general circulation on 12 June and is effective 27 June 2021 (15 days after publication).
