Romanian Government Approves Suspension of Tax Treaty with Russia

On 14 August 2024, the Romanian government approved a memorandum on the suspension of the 1993 income and capital tax treaty with Russia. Russia suspended the application of certain tax treaty articles with 38 "unfriendly" countries on 8 August 2023, including the treaty with Romania. Romania's suspension of the treaty will take effect after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs formally notifies Russia of the suspension.
