Rwanda Revenue Authority Reminds Taxpayers of Sanctions for EBM Non-Compliance

The Rwanda Revenue Authority has published an announcement dated 11 March 2022 regarding sanctions for non-compliance with the Electronic Invoicing Systems (EBM) requirements introduced in 2021. This includes that if a VAT registered person sells goods or services without issuing an electronic invoice through EBM, an administrative fine will be imposed equal to 10 times the VAT amount.
