Spanish Draft VAT Legislation Presented to Council of Ministers

Draft legislation was recently presented to the Spanish Council of Ministers concerning several VAT changes, including:

• Implementation of the new 2015 EU place of supply rules for B2C telecommunications, broadcasting or e-services supplies to consumers in EU Member States
• An increase in the VAT rate for medical supplies including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment from the reduced 10% rate to the standard 21% rate, although certain supplies will remain subject to the reduced rate
