Sri Lanka Reminds Taxpayers to File Tax Returns for Year of Assessment 2023/2024

The Sri Lanka Inland Revenue Department (IRD) recently issued a notice to taxpayers on the opening of the "e-services" for the filing of annual tax returns for the years of assessment 2023/2024, which must be filed electronically on or before 30 November 2024. This deadline applies for the following returns:

• The CIT return for resident and non-resident companies;
• The CIT return for entities and public corporations;
• The PIT return for partnerships; and
• The IIT/IITS return for individuals.
