Switzerland Approves Multilateral Agreement on Exchange of GloBE Information

Switzerland published the Federal Decree approving the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement on the Exchange of GloBE Information (GIR MCAA) in the Official Gazette on 30 March 2026, which is subject to a potential referendum with a deadline of 9 July 2026. The GIR MCAA is meant to facilitate the automatic exchange of GIR information between tax administrations and minimize the compliance burden for MNE Groups, since they will be able to centrally file their GloBE Information Return.
