Taiwan Ministry of Finance Explains Amended Withholding Tax Rules

Taiwan's Ministry of Finance has issued a notice that explains the amended withholding tax rules that were approved on 7 August 2024 and take effect on 1 January 2025. As previously reported, the amendments include, among other things, that the deadline for payment of withholding tax on payments to non-resident individuals or enterprises (within 10 days of withholding) may be extended by 5 days if the additional period is a national holiday that lasts for more than 3 consecutive days.
