Ugandan Parliament Considering Tax Bills for 2026/2027 Budget

The Parliament of Uganda is considering the draft tax bills for the 2026/2027 Budget, which were tabled by the government on 1 April 2026. The main tax measures include:

• A minimum tax of 0.5% on the gross income of taxpayers with no chargeable income and carried forward losses for a period of 7 years, with the minimum tax payable if higher than the normal tax payable;
• Revised individual income tax brackets/rates as follows:
