Update - Australian Parliament Approves Pillar 2 Global Minimum Tax Assessment Bill and Consequential Bill

On 27 November 2024, both houses of the Australian parliament approved the following bills for the implementation of the Pillar 2 global minimum tax:

• The Assessment Bill: Taxation (Multinational—Global and Domestic Minimum Tax) Bill 2024; and
• The Consequential Bill: Treasury Laws Amendment (Multinational— Global and Domestic Minimum Tax) (Consequential) Bill 2024.
