Update - Spain Approves Pending Tax Treaty with Azerbaijan

On 25 February 2020, the Spanish Cabinet approved the pending income and capital tax treaty with Azerbaijan. The treaty, signed 23 April 2014, is the first of its kind directly between the two countries. The tax treaty between Spain and the former Soviet Union has applied but was terminated.

Taxes Covered

The treaty covers Azerbaijan income tax of physical persons, profit tax of legal persons, tax on property, and land tax. It covers Spanish income tax on individuals, corporation tax, inco…
